Description:

A William Brownfield & Son set of 3 graduated relief moulded jugs in white stoneware in the "Tyrol" design.


Identifying Marks / Makers Marks:Marked on the base "Tyrol W B Cobridge" and with a moulded registration diamond for 12th October 1864. The largest jug is number 18, the middle size 24 and the smallest size 36, I assume these numbers correspond with the sizes available.
Age / date of manufacture:
1864.
Size:Large - measures 8" (just under 20.5 cm) tall (to the tallest part of the jug, the top of the spout) and measures approximately 5 1/4" (13.25 cm) across from the handle to the tip of the spout.

Middle - measures 7 3/4" (19.75 cm) tall (to the tallest part of the jug, the top of the spout) and measures approximately 4 3/4" (12 cm) across from the handle to the tip of the spout.

Small - measures 6 3/4" (just over 17 cm) tall (to the tallest part of the jug, the top of the spout) and measures approximately 4 1/2" (11.5 cm) across from the handle to the tip of the spout.

Condition:The 2 larger jugs are in excellent undamaged condition. The smallest jug has an impact mark on the edge of the rim of the spout measuring 1/4" (5mm ) across, it is otherwise undamaged.
