DESCRIPTION
Austin Dobson was an English poet, critic, and biographer renowned for his love and knowledge of the 18th century that inspired his critical studies and his own work, resulting in a graceful elegance to his poetry.
Hugh Thomson was an Irish Illustrator who produced works for the texts of authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and J. M. Barrie, largely produced in his iconic pen-and-ink style. Throughout his lifetime, Thomson illustrated sixty-five books and contributed a large number of illustrations to magazines and other periodicals, an impressive output for any illustrator.
In the publishers original cloth binding, with attractive gilt detailing to the front board and spine.
CONDITION
In a cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally, generally smart. Slight rubbing and shelfwear and minor marks to rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
