~~Rolex& COMEX - The "Pisani" Dial ~~
COMEX is knownto be the first experimental diving and engineering
organization, whopartnered closely with Rolex and develop many advances
tool watchesfor their employees to work with during their operation under
water.When it comes to the evolution of the components on the reference
1665 issued to COMEX, the variations are fairly minimal butsignificant,
especially on the dial. With two distinct versions, themost desirable is the
"Pisani" iternation, named after thegreat COMEX scholar Marcello Pisani.
The design is distinguished bythe fact that it was custom made only for
COMEX, with a few elementscarrying over from the standard version:
bearing a 600m depth rating,versus 610 metres on the production watch,
and devoid of the wordDate after Oyster Perpetual. Other modification is
that it has theso-called "rail" format where the space between Superlative
Chronometer and Officially Certified are lined up. Towards the end ofthe
issued batch, the "Pisani" dials were replaced by aversion closer to those
fitted to the standard production. Estimatedonly 300 pieces were produced
under this reference at which mostcollectors are chasing the 600m depth
rating.

Diving Comany- the NASA of the deep sea. It began to
work with Rolex to develop the ultimate dive watch

Sea-Dweller ranges.
